Description of the castle

Railings border the street, and an inner yard precedes the entrance of the house. One enters the house through a door in the tower which opens on a small hall. Beautiful stairs lead into the floors.
Two genuine antique wooden carved doors, open, the first one in a big loundge, and the second one in the dining room.

  • In the big loundge, a beautiful Renaissance fire place, mullioned windows, stained-glass windows ; the loundge overlooks the garden where we get through outdoor steps and double stairs. Red-chalk frescos which date back to the building of the castle have been kept. Walls are made of visible stones.
  • Furnitures : a table for game birds "Louis XV", a chest of drawers "Louis XVI", a console, 2 confortable sofas of black leather, a set of sofa and armchairs "Louis Philippe", a big oriental carpet on the floor, with in the center a table from India. On the sideboard, two old and beautiful oil lamps and a ceramic scupture by Jean-Paul Gourdon representing a wild bear. This big loundge opens on another loundge, more cosy, there, another beautiful fire place "Renaissance", mullioned windows and stained glass windows. Walls made of visible stones.
  • Furnitures : a sideboard "Renaissance", a chest of the same period, a piece of furniture called "homme debout" "Louis XIII". A sofa and confortable armchairs around a big coffe table on a big oriental carpet. A cannonball from the one-hundred years war in its box. Family portraits on the walls.
  • The dining-room : a table 3,10 meters long "Louis XIII", a big sideboard Louis XV, a console, a "venery" table, ten beautiful chairs, a small sofa and two armchairs, beautiful fire place, walls visible stones.
On the ground floor, two nice bedrooms communicating with the big loundge. The first one opening onto the garden with two brass beds, a chest of drawers, chairs. The other one, opening onto the entrance yard, has a double bed, a chest of drawers and chairs.
A bathroom stands between the two bedrooms with a shower, WC, and a double washbasin.
Communicating with the second loundge and the dining room, a corridor and toilets. This corridor leads to a bedroom which guies onto the village : two antique canopied fourposter, beds in the Polish style ; a linen cupboard, a table and chairs "Louis Philippe", carpet, paintings ; a bathroom adjoining the bedroom with bath and toilets.
Apart from the dining-room and from the second loundge, the corridor leads also to the big kitchen wigh guies onto the garden, very charming place. Two antique sideboards, modern kitchen equipment, double sink, electrik cooker, washing-machine. Above the sink a window offers a beautiful view of the garden. Enough coockery in the dining-room and in the kitchen. All necessary domestic equipment.
In the middle of the kitchen, a large table with ten chairs and on the ceiling shopping baskets dating back to the last century.
In the garden adjoining the building, a little summer dining-room with table and chairs, a very pleasant place. Adjoining the kitchen, a big laundry with washing-machine, tumble-dryer, ironing-board, etc...

FIRST FLOOR

Three beautiful bedrooms

In front of the stairs,two mullioned windows, on giving onto the inner yard ; the other one onto the garden with a panoramic view on the Garonne valley.
Outstanding tiles from the Renaissance (Xve), beautiful wooden fire-place Louis XVI, a four-poster bed from the Victorian period coming from India ; a small desk Louis XV, a table Louis XV, a small chest of drawers XIXe, a sofa Louis XVI with its two armchairs, an armchair "Voltaire" style, paintings and oriental carpet.
Big adjoining bathroom with a big bath, shower, double washbasin and toilets.
Communicating with the bathroom, a bedroom for children with two antique beds.

On the landing, mullioned window, stained glass windows, nice view on the Garonne valley ; beautiful fire-place "Renaissance" with sculptures on each side, ceiling with exposed beams and gothic centre- light.
Large four poster bed indian style, a beautiful antique indian chesst, a piece of furniture Louis XIII, a beautiful marquetry table made of precious wood and ivory from Italy ; armchair Louis XIII ; on the floor, oriental carpet.
Adjoining the room, a bathroom with double washbasin and toilets, large bath and bathroom cupboard.

Large bedroom giving onto the street and onto the inner yard. The beds Louis XIII, a sideboard of the same period, a table in the middle and oriental carpet, chairs Louis XIII - big fire place and as a decorration a Knight on his horse - life-size - coming from India recalling "Gengis Khan" - Window decorated with beautiful stained-glasses with the arms of the Guyenne.
Adjoining the room, a bathroom, double washbasin, bath and toilet.
